You may have been born in the U.S. You may have become a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder during your lifetime … or, you may be contemplating this. Now, you are living in Canada, have investments in Canada, or spend significant amounts of time in Canada for work or pleasure.
To complicate things, your spouse may not be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder. You may own your own company in Canada. Or, you may have investments in or outside Canada that result in tax filing requirements on both sides of the border. You may not have filed your U.S. or Canadian tax returns properly (or at all).
