You may travel frequently to the U.S. for work, or you may be a snowbird who travels to the U.S. to escape the cold Canadian winters. Canada is still your home … but now you’re hearing that the U.S. might consider that you live there as well? What are the tax implications of that?
To complicate things, you may have investments in or outside Canada that result in tax filing requirements on both sides of the border. You may not have filed your Canadian or U.S. tax returns properly (or at all). You may also have to file U.S. state and local tax returns. And you haven’t even thought about U.S. estate tax.
I can help.
